10 Charged With Trespassing In Rockland

Swimmers who enjoy the lure of a local quarry for a quick dip or to have a party might want to think twice after 10 people were arrested over the weekend.

In Rockland County, Ramapo Police said they arrested 10 people for trespassing at the quarry located in the Village of Suffern.

The arrests took place on Saturday, June 6, after the department said they received numerous complaints from area residents.

After being charged with trespassing, all were released without bail to appear in court at a later date.

Police are reminding swimmers of the dangers of the swimming at the quarry due to slippy, steep cliffs, dark waters, and old debris underwater. 

It's also private that is posted to prevent trespassing.
